Water Alert

When the City of Elkins Water department is flushing water lines or repairing water leaks and when the Water Treatment plant experiences power surges, customers may experience discolored water.  To clear the water, allow it to run in your bathtub or sink for 20-30 minutes; if your water isn’t clear after this, wait an hour and try it again.  Use caution before doing laundry, especially with light-colored items. If your laundry becomes stained due to discolored water you may contact the City of Elkins Water Department, located on Baxter Street (304-636-6566), to obtain a chemical to help remove the stains.
