City Hall News: Week of June 29, 2025
Elkins, WV—June 27, 2025: There will be no City Council, committee, or board meetings the week starting June 30, 2025.
City Hall will be closed Friday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday.
Change to garbage collection schedule: In neighborhoods with regular Friday garbage pickup, this coming Friday’s garbage pickup will occur on Thursday, July 3. The City’s sanitation crew will work a double shift on Thursday so they can spend the long holiday weekend with their families. Other days’ regularly scheduled garbage pickup will occur as usual.
Upcoming City Council and Committee meetings, along with their agendas and locations, can be viewed here: https://elkinswv.portal.civicclerk.com/. The next City Council meetings are scheduled for July 10 and 24, at 7:00 p.m., at the Phil Gainer Community Center. In previous meetings, City Council voted to move July’s council meetings to their newly scheduled dates because of where the July 4 holiday lands this year.
City Hall remains closed to the public for renovation and repairs until further notice. All departments are operating and available for service as usual, but in-person appointments will require advance arrangements. All meetings occur at the Phil Gainer Community Center (142 Robert E. Lee Ave. Extension) in Elkins unless otherwise stated.
