City Hall News: Week of June 5, 2023
Meeting this week are council’s Finance Committee, the Elkins Tree Board, and the Elkins Planning Commission.
Early voting is available at Elkins City Hall (401 Davis Avenue) 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, June 9 and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 10. Election day is Tuesday, June 13. The Finance Committee meets Monday at 10 a.m. on the following business items: identification of funding source for EFD/EPD training site; funding request from Augusta Heritage Center, Inc. for acquisition and redevelopment of the Wilt Building; proposed purchase of real property in Second Ward; budget revisions for FY 2023; funding for city hall HVAC project; FY 2024 liability and auto insurance; and purchase of pick-up truck and garbage truck by Sanitation Department.
At its Tuesday 5:30 p.m. meeting, the Tree Board will work on grants and plan a workday at the Kump House and city tree nursery.
Meeting Thursday at 3:30 p.m., the Planning Commission continues work on its update to the comprehensive plan and the regulation of murals.
