Partnering With Nonprofits
This page describes how the City of Elkins can partner with local nonprofit agencies to amplify their community impact.
Elkins and Nonprofits, a Partnership
The City of Elkins recognizes the vital role local nonprofits play in building a thriving community. We’re committed to amplifying your work through strategic partnerships. Below are two ways we can collaborate to increase your organization’s visibility.
Social media collaboration
We’re happy to share your existing Facebook content on our official City Hall page! While we can’t create custom posts for organizations, reposting your content helps broaden your reach.
How to participate:
- Email your request to the City’s Communications Manager (contact below)
- Let us know the exact post you’d like us to share, either with a screenshot or link
- If there’s any text you prefer, please write it out in the email
- Note: We don’t monitor Facebook messages in real time—email is the best way to connect
Spotlighting your work via news articles
Our External Affairs office currently prioritizes featuring nonprofits addressing:
- Homelessness prevention
- Addiction services
- Mental health support
- Other community-focused missions may be considered
Here’s how it works: First, we’ll schedule a 30-minute interview, either by phone, video conference, or in person in downtown Elkins. The result would be an article 800-1,000 words. The interview would focus on:
- The specific challenge your nonprofit addresses in Elkins
- Obstacles you face in delivering services and how the community can help
- One or two recent success stories in Elkins
- Volunteer and donation opportunities for residents
By showcasing your efforts, we aim to foster engagement among Elkins’ 7,000 residents and build a stronger, more connected community.
