Celebrating Elkins Businesses: Ribbon Cuttings & Milestone Anniversaries

The City of Elkins is proud of its growing business community and is committed to supporting local economic development. For ribbon-cutting ceremonies, the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber takes the lead on that role.

That being said, the City is pleased to partner with the Chamber to celebrate the opening of new businesses—including ribbon-cutting ceremonies. The City is also pleased to commemorate significant anniversaries of existing Elkins businesses and organizations.

The City will work with businesses the best it can to arrange for a local official, such as the mayor or a council member, to participate in the ceremony. Additionally, the City will provide a commemorative certificate and share details of the event on its social media channels.

While the City strives to provide photos and event information to local media, news coverage cannot be guaranteed.

How to Request a Ceremony

To ensure proper planning, businesses should submit requests at least five business days in advance of the proposed event date. Requests should be sent to the mayor’s office via email or U.S. mail and include the following:

• Contact information: First and last name, address, email, and telephone number of the person coordinating the event.
• Business details: A brief summary of the business and the significance of the ceremony (e.g., grand opening, milestone anniversary).
• Event details: The proposed date, time, and location of the ceremony.
