Christmas Trees Taken to Elkins Mountain School to be Planted
Elkins W. Va., January 5, 2024: This holiday season, Elkins Main Street, the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, and other community members partnered to facilitate the placement of live Christmas trees along downtown streets. On Wednesday, two of these trees—one donated by the City of Elkins and the other by Phillips Kolsun—were transferred to Elkins Mountain School personnel.
Now that the holiday season has ended, these trees will be transported to the school, where students will help replant them. This project helps promote sustainability for our mountain landscape and aids the school in replenishing a natural habitat for wildlife and animals.
“We wanted to make sure after the holiday season that these trees found a good home,” stated Mayor Jerry Marco. “The city has always had a great working relationship with the Mountain School and we believe this will be a good project for the students.”
