City Hall News: Week of December 25, 2023
Elkins W. Va., December 29, 2023: Elkins City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 1. Garbage normally picked up on Mondays will be picked up on Tuesday, January 2, starting at 6:00 a.m.
In-city fire fees and utility bills will be mailed out on December 29 and are due January 17.
There have been changes to the city’s Christmas tree disposal program for January 2024. Members of the public are encouraged to bring their own trees to a drop-off site at the Street Department Garage (1 Baxter Street), to enable Street Department employees to focus on higher-value work such as stormwater management. For those who cannot transport their own trees, limited curbside pickup will be available January 2-January 12. Trees may not be picked up on the same day they are placed curbside. Please ensure trees are free of ornaments, decorations, lights, tinsel, and similar items.
