City Hall News: Week of June 12, 2023
Meeting next are council’s Public Safety Committee and council itself. Election day is Tuesday.
The last day of early voting is Saturday, June 10, 9am-5pm. Early voting for all wards is at Elkins City Hall (401 Davis Avenue). Election day in Elkins is Tuesday, June 13. Polls are open 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Election information, including polling places and ballot information, is available here: https://bit.ly/Elkins-Election-2023.
Starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, city hall will be open to the public for the announcement of election results. Ballot counting occurs at polling places; as this is a paper-ballot count, results will not be received from all polling places for several hours after polls close.
The Public Safety Committee meets Monday at 10 a.m. to discuss signs.
Council meets Thursday at 7 p.m. The agenda may be adjusted through Tuesday. Current items include final FY 2023 budget revisions, reappointments to boards and commissions, the renewal of the lease for the All Veterans Memorial Park, purchase of a new trash truck, funding for a police and fire training facility, and funding for the city hall HVAC project.
