City Hall News: Week of November 20, 2023
Elkins W. Va., November 17, 2023: City Hall will be closed Thursday and Friday (11/23-24) in observance of Thanksgiving. Garbage collection scheduled times will change the week of November 20.
If your garbage is usually picked up on MONDAYS or THURSDAYS, this schedule will change during Thanksgiving week.
Garbage normally picked up on MONDAYS will be picked up Sunday (11/19), starting at 6 a.m.
Garbage normally picked up on THURSDAYS will be picked up Wednesday (11/22), starting at 6 a.m.
There are no changes for customers whose trash is picked up on TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, and FRIDAYS.
Leaf collection from the city of Elkins is coming to a close. Normal operation will continue the rest of the week of November 20.
Starting Monday, November 27, anyone who needs leaves picked up should place them in bags and contact either the City of Elkins Operations Department or the Street Department. Leaves will then be picked up in the order that we receive calls.
Utility and in-city fire fees are due November 20. First due fire fees were mailed out November 15 and are due December 4.
