Elkins City Hall News: Week of February 5, 2024
Elkins W. Va., February 2, 2024: The Personnel Committee, the Rules & Ordinances Committee, and the Tree Board meet the week of February 2.
The Personnel Committee meets Monday at 1:00 p.m. Items on the agenda include: nomination of a new municipal court judge; HSA administration (presentation from vendor and recommendation for action); and revising policy for emergency government closures.
The Rules & Ordinances Committee meets Monday at 3:30 p.m. Items on the agenda include: elimination of solicitors permits; delegating authority to sign ABCA endorsements; and revision of downtown sound system policy.
The Tree Board meets Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Items on the agenda include: DOF urban grant 2024 (due Spring 2024); request for funding FY 2025 (due February 9); discussion of board vacancy; rack cards (contact info stickers); outreach dates and topics esp. “Sprout into Spring” KEC event on March 16; and council presentation follow up and discussion.
Utility shut offs are scheduled for February 6. Please pay past due amounts by February 5 to avoid disruption in your service.
Utility bills and in-city fire fees were mailed out January 31 and are due February 20. Customers can expect to see the final sewer rate increase on this billing cycle.
