Elkins City Hall News: Week of June 3, 2024
Elkins W. Va., May 31, 2024: The Finance Committee, the Rules & Ordinances Committee, the Elkins Tree Board, and City Council meet the week of June 3.
The Finance Committee will hold a special meeting on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Items on the agenda include final FY 2024 budget revisions and a discussion on HVAC costs and options.
The Rules & Ordinances Committee meets Monday at 3:30 p.m. Items on the agenda include proposed changes to a Water Board ordinance; proposed changes to bidding rules; discussion of changes to procedure for docketing agenda items; and discussion on creating a Private Outdoor Designated Area (PODA).
The Elkins Tree Board meets Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Items on the agenda include a discussion on upcoming workdays and Mitchell Invoice.
City Council meets Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The agenda may be adjusted through Tuesday. Items on the agenda include the second reading of ordinances annexing parcels on Redbud Lane and adjacent to the Elkins Water Plant; the second reading of an ordinance amending the Zoning Code’s limit on height of accessory buildings; the second reading of an ordinance imposing zoning on an unzoned parcel near North 12th Street; and recognition of Patrolman D. George’s promotion to Corporal.
Utility shutoffs are scheduled for June 4 for delinquent bills. First due fire fees need to be paid by June 3 to avoid a penalty being added.
